Directions and Parking:

There is very limited parking at Tucson High Magnet School. Alternative parking is on the streets in the neighborhoods directly east and south of THMS. There are also UA surface lots that are free on weekends. You must pay to park in any UA parking garages, with 2nd Street Garage being $15 due to UA sporting events.
Below you will find Maps and Directions for the day of MEAD. This includes Parking at Tucson High Magnet School (THMS), Parking lots and street parking, Directions to the High School, Parking for the Luncheon, and Directions to find the Grand Ballroom.

  • For those who need disability access or special assistance at THMS, you will find parking in the 6th Street lot.
  • After the morning conference sessions, we will provide a shuttle bus to transport you from THMS to the Keynote Luncheon, and then back to THMS at the end of the day.
  • We DO NOT recommend parking in any University garages, as you will be required to pay for it. Additionally, avoid the 2nd Street Garage due to other UA campus events that increase the price to $15–$20.

MEAD RAFFLE PRIZES

As a way to show appreciation for Arizona teachers, many businesses and organizations have donated prizes to be raffled away to MEAD participants.

There are two different types of prize list: One for IN-PERSON and one for VIRTUAL. Both Raffles will be completed via a google form that you'll get the day of the event. Please only submit the form for which method you attend the conference.

  • IN-PERSON Prizes: At registration, there will be some prizes out for viewing purposes only, but all prizes will be listed in the google form. We will have QR Codes and a laptop available to complete your entries. Each participant will select two (2) prizes that they'd like the chance to win. Winners will be texted during the 3rd Session. Participants must pick up their prize BEFORE they leave Tucson High Magnet School on their way to the Keynote Luncheon.
  • VIRTUAL Prizes: Virtual participants will be given a google from link to complete. Participants will select the two (2) prizes they would like to enter for the raffle.  Winners will be selected and then emailed the following week after MEAD.  Prizes will then be emailed or mailed to the winners.

Whether you win a prize or not, please show your appreciation for their donation by patronizing these establishments. Thank you on behalf of the MEAD Conference.

Not Quite Junk

We would like to shower our educators with a variety of MEAD door prizes! But, did you know you can help too? We are asking our community of educators if they know of anyone with gently used educational supplies and materials (manipulatives, books, posters, whiteboards, technology, storage bins, etc.) that need a new classroom. Please help us spread the word so we can fill up our Not Quite Junk trunk with great prize donations for our educators!
There will be classroom resources passed on from other teachers and organizations that could be your treasure!

Before MEAD: Drop it off or mail it to our office. Department of Mathematics,
CRR 617 N. Santa Rita Ave, Tucson AZ 85719
Day of MEAD: Bring it with you to Tucson High Magnet School!
